Energy infrastructure development and maintenance company Tetas, commissioned by the electricity transmission system operator Litgrid, has successfully completed the reconstruction of the 110 kV switchyard at the Subačius transformer substation in the Kupiškis district. The upgrade will enhance the reliability of electricity supply for local residents and businesses while reducing long-term operational costs.
“The Subačius substation is a key infrastructure facility for electricity consumers in the Kupiškis region and had been operating for more than 40 years without major upgrades. By reconstructing the 110 kV switchyard, we have adapted it to today’s needs – the network has become more resilient to disturbances, recovery after faults will be faster, and operations will be more efficient. This is a consistent step in strengthening the reliability of the national transmission network,” says Karolis Sabaliauskas, Head of the Strategic Infrastructure Department at Litgrid.
As part of the project, Tetas carried out the design works and modernized the switchyard equipment of the Subačius transformer substation, which had been in operation since 1976.
Project value: approximately EUR 2.3 million (excluding VAT).
