One year on, when colleagues from the contracting company Tetas purchased a measurement laboratory from the then defunct Energy Services and Contracting Organisation (EnePRO), the purchase has paid off.
According to Gediminas Mažeika, CEO of Tetas, the laboratory is likely to pay for itself earlier than planned.
“Compared to the same period last year, the laboratory’s income has increased. The faster payback of the investment is mainly due to the increased volume of work we are doing in the laboratory with the same number of staff.” – says Mr Mažeika.
The acquisition of the laboratory has maintained cooperation with external energy companies. Optimisation of the work of the laboratory’s units: i.e. the transformer oil testing and electrical measurement unit in the Klaipėda region has been eliminated and the services have been moved to Kaunas. More efficient use of facilities and transport also contributed to the improved outcome.
“Tetas’ laboratory services include fault detection and inspection of faults in the power grid, testing of distribution and transmission grid equipment: metrological verification of metering transformers, measurement of power transformers, testing of transformer oil and inspection of protective measures.
It meets the requirements of LST EN ISO 17025. This is important not only for maintenance and repair services at Litgrid and ESO, but also at transformer substations and distribution points of other industrial companies.
